The Student Advocacy Counselor promotes student success, provides preventive services and responds to identified student needs by providing individual and group counseling to students, linking students and families with appropriate community agencies and by referring “at risk” students and families to appropriate community agencies.  The Student Advocacy Counselor coordinates, researches and/or develops preventative and intervention programs to enhance and support the school and district’s needs.  The SAC works in partnership with community agencies, school staff, students, and families.

It is my passion to guide children and youth from turmoil into resiliency, allowing them to become the best they can be. I utilize a strength-based Circle of Courage philosophy combined with Attachment Theory to form nurturing relationships that set the stage for student Mastery, Independence, Belonging, and Generosity. I've held positions as a youth worker, intake worker, youth counselor, student advocate and teacher in, traditional alternative, residential, and day treatment programs. Outside of my career I enjoy mountain biking, weight training, combative sports, rodeo and currently play for the Cold Lake Penguins Rugby Club. It is my goal to combine my ongoing education, my experiences, my dedication, and my passion to actualize potential within myself and my students.
