Family Liaison

Family School Liaison: Rhonda Jackson

The main objective of the Family School Liaison FNMI (First Nations, Métis and Inuit) program is to better meet the needs of our ever increasing FNMI student population. The Family Liaison is an important member of the educational and student support team working to improve the FNMI learner success in Early Childhood Services to grade 12 and in post-secondary education. The Family School Liaison can assist with:

~ Liaison between school/home/outside agencies, providing guidance and support to students ~ monitoring student attendance and academic progress
~ promote awareness and appreciation of FNMI culture, heritage and language ~ facilitating & organizing FNMI awareness programs and activities
~ enhancing the academic, social, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being of the FNMI child in one to one, small group and large scale classroom situations.

Referrals are made through: Classroom teachers, school administrators, parents and community members.
